Syd is a writer and creative who writes short stories and journalism articles, paints and often takes pictures. Originally from Sudbury and Manitoulin Island, she attended university in Ottawa. Syd holds a Bachelors degree in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from the University of Ottawa. Her work explores themes of self reflection and draws inspiration from the natural world. Merging political commentary and personal storytelling, she creates works that attempt to make sense of the world as it is today. Her creative writing and painting has been featured in The Matchstick, Amnesty Canada's Arts & Human Rights Magazine. Previously, she worked at The Fulcrum as Arts Editor and Managing Editor where her journalism work is published. Syd continues to create, and pursue oppotunities in the arts while continuing her schooling.
